Is the bottom hallow? I have hard floors and need to be able to put something on the bottom to keep from sliding.

These steps have a hollow middle.
What material are the stairs? Wood, plastic, etc...

The steps are made of plastic with rubber grip feet, and carpeted tops for traction.

Great Product
We purchased this product for helping our dog get in and out of our Subaru Forester. Since the SUV sits high off the ground, we preferred she not have to jump in each time we took her out for a walk in the park (which we do twice a day). This is exactly the right product for this purpose and it is likely to serve us well for many years. Dog took to it readily and it stores easily in the back of our SUV. Really like this product.

Easy couch access for bulldog and cat
I have an 8-year-old English Bulldog whose favorite spot in the whole world is on our couch. These line up perfectly with our couch height and happen to be the perfect width between our ottoman and fireplace hearth too. They provide easy up and down access for both him and our senior cat. Super easy to put together and quite sturdy for how light they are (he's 65 lbs). Have had this set for the last 2 years with daily regular use and no complaints!

This Corgi loves his stairs!
A Corgi and his mom love the steps. They are lightweight and easily moved to vacuum all the corgi fur. The steps are good for the Corgi's back and Mom's shoulder. He is such a smart boy that he learned to use them in less than 5 min. Easy peasy access to bed. Thank you Chewy for the awesome service and quality of the goods. Lotus

SO WORTH THE MONEY!
I have purchased these for my small dogs and then for my giant breed dogs. They all used them and did so easily. My doggie door for the giant breed is about a foot off the ground outside (I think), and in looking for something in wood I saw first there wasn't anything "just right" and second they were VERY expensive. I turned to the Pet Gear and found that it was affordable and worked! Some complained about assembly. I'm 75 and have arthritis and all I had to do is set it on its side and press down. Always snapped into place. As far as lasting a long time, the one for the giant breed dogs is in the element in Texas, where it has the sun on it about 5 hours a day, and is in the rain often. It is still going strong, except I want to purchase the pads to replace now. For me as the dogs don't care! Another thing, they DON'T SLIP! No need to put anything under them. I have carpets in the cat room and outside they are in the grass. I had them in my living room for the little dogs on hardwood floor and they didn't slip ever. Now my diabetic cat needed one so let him use the one I had for the small dog. When I realized he wanted to jump in one of the other chairs, I purchased

Trust Chewy
I bought the stairs for my large 13 year old dog who is having pain and mobility issues. The stairs are easy to assemble and sturdy. However, my dog refused to use them. She was unsure of them. I returned them. I can't say enough good things about Chewy's no questions asked and free return policy. I really appreciate it since we are all trying to do the best for our pets. Chewy makes that easy.

Great stairs
I have several little dogs, these long steps work better than short steps that go up higher. This is the second one I've bought over the years of this item and completely satisfied. Make sure you measure before ordering as pictures can be deceiving. Customer service was awesome when I had to exchange.

The easy part is done
I bought these steps to help my senior dog get on the bed while I'm at work (window views on two sides of the room). They are sturdy and have enough space that she could stand on each step going slowly. I did have trouble getting a few of the plastic pieces together properly (they needed more push than I have in me). The remaining problem? Convincing the dog to use them.

Helped Cancer Kitty Get Into Her Favorite Chair
Our 10yr old cat got diagnosed with cancer and started having trouble jumping and moving around. She was a little cat, but got this for her because it was wide and stable so she felt secure walking up it. Narrower steps made her nervous and she wouldn't use them. She used these to get into her favorite chair so she could hang out with us while we worked from home. The steps were easy to snap together and the carpet pads offer good traction. And the other cat likes hiding in the space beneath the stairs!

Back saver!
I am over the moon about this product. I have an Old English Sheepdog, and she started to have trouble getting into bed. I am about the size of my dog, so it was killing my back to lift her over and over. It was also destroying my sleep. Snowbelle starting using this right away! I was skeptical, because I had purchased an expensive ramp that she will not use. This was great for a bigger dog, and I love that the steps slope a little bit. It also looks nicer than the ramp. It does not take up a lot of room. Thank you Chewy! It took only minutes to set up?

Basset Steps
We purchased the three step Easy Step last year for our bassets to get into our SUV, now the two step is perfect for our couch so they can get up and lounge at will. Sturdy product, I highly recommend it.
